A Quad-City food bank that helps feed those in need received a large donation from local farmers.
Quad-City farmers donated around $24,000 to the River Bend Food Bank through the Bushels for Hunger program. Area farmers have been making donations like this for fourteen years now, and their contributions to the food bank total over $320,000. This year’s donation is expected to provide over 100,000 meals.
To date, Bushels for Hunger has raised 1.6 million meals.
