Tim Meadows was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1991 to 2000, playing several characters including the self-proclaimed ladies' man Leon Phelps. During the 1990s, he also worked on movies inspired by "Saturday Night Live" sketches, including "Coneheads" and "Wayne's World 2." In 2000, Leon Phelps would get his own movie entitled "The Ladies Man."
In an interview with Fox59, Meadows recalled what it felt like to get the job at "Saturday Night Live." "I never thought it would be a job that I would have, you know ... So it was a dream come true," he said. "And then to work there and be surrounded by all of these really talented, funny writers just sort of made you up your game."
Many of his credits also include work with other "Saturday Night Live" alumni. He played Ted in the 2011 Adam Sandler-led movie "Jack and Jill," and he would join Sandler, Chris Rock, and David Spade for "Grown Ups" and "Grown Ups 2." He worked with Sandler again in the 2020 Netflix movie "Hubie Halloween," playing Mr. Lester Hennessey. But it's his work with one particular "Saturday Night Live" alum that continues to be revived, with many of its lines being used in everyday conversations.
