On Sister, Sister, Mowry-Hardrict played Tia Landry, the more studious and serious twin. She was raised by her adoptive mother, Lisa Landry, in Detroit, prior to the twins' reunion. Despite her sober nature, Tia typically ends up getting roped into Tamera's crazy schemes one way or another.

After Sister, Sister ended, Mowry-Hardrict didn't slow down for a moment. She went on to co-star in several movies with her twin sister, including Twitches, the sequel Twitches Too, and The Hot Chick. The two even appeared in the animated TV series Detention together, in which Mowry-Hardrict and her sister portray twins with a penchant for hacking into school computers. She also landed several other television roles: She played Dr. Melanie Barnett on The Game and Stephanie Phillips on Instant Mom, and just wrapped up a stint as Cocoa McKellen on Family Reunion. Mowry-Hardrict and her sister also starred in a 2011 reality TV series entitled Tia & Tamera.

In 2008, Mowry-Hardrict married fellow actor Cory Hardrict. The couple now has a son, Cree, and a daughter, Cairo. She says that she loves nothing more than spending time with her kids and making them laugh. "I have to learn how to draw that line and be like, 'Tia, maybe this is why, sometimes, your kids run all over you,'" Mowry-Hardrict told People. "Because they think you're their friend!"
