Tyler Hurd was a Bettendorf High School sophomore before he passed last June. Tyler spent a lot of his days playing baseball at his neighborhood field at Ed Scheck park. His family created a memorial fund for various improvements to the field, as well as the park and playground to honor his legacy. Later on, the city of Bettendorf decided to name the field Tyler Hurd Field. The dedication is today at 5 p.m. There will be a Wiffle ball game played after to honor his memory.
