The Silvis Public Library is in the middle of some very big renovations. Their current building was originally designed for retail space so they’re changing it up to better suit the needs of the library. Improvements will include a more user-friendly entrance, electronic signs, and a drive-up book drop. Summer programs are currently being housed at the Public Safety Building in Silvis. The library director says the building is almost ready to re-open . “This is when we’re seeing everything come together. The last three weeks has been more infrastructure.” said Nancy Ashbrook, the Silvis Public Library Director. There will be a soft opening of the new library on June 27th. The grand opening will happen in early July.
