Another Iowa Hawkeyes football season is on the horizon and The Public House in Davenport is kicking it off with their annual PHry PHest event.

Adam Rossow of Hawkeye Headquarters and Steve Batterson of Hawkmania will be in the house and we’ll go live on Local 4 News at 5 to check in on the celebration.

Johnna and Austin Chesney, co-owners of the bar over at 53rd and Northwest Boulevard in Davenport, joined Local 4 News at 4 on Wednesday to talk about this weekend’s event.

“It’s our third annual event to unofficially kickoff the Hawkeyes football season,” Johnna Chesney said. “It’s going on from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 26. We’re gonna have great drink specials, the Meatheads Meat Market Food Truck, tailgate games and other exclusive offers. We’ll also be giving away tickets to the opening game against Northern Illinois and have some other cool giveaways throughout the event.”

And of course a lot of Hawkeyes football talk. Steve and I will get everyone caught up on the latest developments from preseason camp the past few weeks. We will have a little question and answer session with the fans there at The Public House and maybe even make some predictions for the upcoming season.

There will be drink specials, food truck, tailgate games, ticket giveaway, exclusive season offers,

The Chesneys also debuted a t-shirt that will help support patients at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
