Theron began her walk down memory lane with a touching tweet acknowledging the tough movie shoot, and the big payoff that came at the end: "5 years ago, Mad Max: Fury Road was released. As you know by now, it was a grueling, intense shoot but my god was it all worth it. Went back into the vault to find some of my favorite moments behind the scenes."
The tweet was accompanied by a selfie of her in full grease-paint makeup as Furiosa, and was followed by five more peeks behind the scenes. These included a video of the first time the actress laid eyes on the monstrous war rigs that were built for the film, and a sweet selfie featuring a bloody Theron with the actresses who played the wives who are rescued by Furiosa and Max Rockatansky. There's also a loving shot of director George Miller, which she captioned: "The man, the myth, the legend. Forever grateful to you, George."
But perhaps the most "aww" inspiring memory was the last that Theron posted. In the shot she is holding her child, Jackson, and wearing a pair of sunglasses and a smile. "I became a mom right before we started shooting," the actress wrote, adding, "At least my child will forever have the fun fact of 'I spent most of the first year of my life in a war rig'."
