Broken water pipe forces evacuation of Bettendorf Family Museum

A broken water pipe forced a temporary evacuation at the Family Museum in Bettendorf.

The museum’s director says the water pipe broke in the ceiling above one of the entryways, and water rushed in like a monsoon. Firefighters and Public Works employees responded to turn off the water.

The museum is open as cleanup and repairs are underway. The restrooms and everything else in the building are working fine.
